This article is a philological approach to the text of the Bellum Gallicum by Caesar in the thirteenth century manuscript Parisinus Lat. 5767 (P), in order to clarify its relationship with the textual tradition of the B.G. The method employed focuses on two elements : the distinctive features of tituli and colophons, and the collation and internal analysis of the text. The study allows to conclude that P belongs to the family Χ (A and Q) of the a manuscripts, and shows internal evidence of relation with Q, although P is not merely a copy of Q, but it comes from an hyparchetype closely related with Q, but distinctly different, and with great critical value.
