Is there an augment in η before ϝ in ηὗρον?

This paper defends two ideas: one, that ηὗρον derives from *ἐ-ϝρ-ον, a form with a normal augment in ε and not η, by means of the following process: *ε-ϝρ-ον > ἑ-ϋρ-ον > εὗρον, with a change to ηὗρον by analogy with verbs which began with a vowel; the other, that the form *ϝρ-, which led to the aorist ηὗρον and from this led to the present εὑρίσκω, with the meaning ‘to find, uncover, show’, derives from the same root as *ϝερ-, which means ‘to say’, just as the aorist ἔδειζα, ‘to show’ is from the same root as the Latin dicere, ‘to say’.
