Abstract

The text of the Fragment is easy to restore, if one does account for the late pronunciation of the Greek language: η as i, υ as i, θ and δ as (engl.) th resp. «dh». Instead of the impossibility of two fathers of Helen emerges the reading 'Ωκεανοῦ καὶ Τηθὐος (viz. Didhios > Dhios), the first generating couple according lo old tradition (Homer and «Orpheus»).
