The first part of this article deals with the study of the new compounds in Greek and Latin words in rabbinical literature listed in Krauss’ Grammar (1898). The new compounds are catalogued according their grammatical and syntactic functions and their meaning in the light of philological research in the last century. The second part of this paper centres on a comparative study of the construction dynamics of these compounds which may introduce new elements from Semitic languages (Hebrew/Aramaic), and compound formation in classical and modern Greek.
