Abstract

Philostr. Her.. XXXV 9-10 may preserve hints of a rhesis from Sophocles' Eurysaces. Taking that as a departure point, a reconstruction of the general lines of this play is attempted from the evidence supplied by Accius, Pacuvius and Justin, as interpreted through the narrative pattern evinced in Oedipus at Colonus.
