La estructura formal de la comparación en las Argonáuticas de Apolonio de Rodas

In this paper, the author analyses the formal structure of the comparisons made in book I of Apollonius’ Argonautica. The study is developed on two levels: 1) A formal analysis of isolated comparisons and of couples or chains of similes. Attention is focused on the relationship between the compared terms and the vehicle of the comparison. 2) A formal analysis of the type of context in which the similes are inserted, in order to determine their narrative function.
