Parens y parentālia

Rectifying his own former ideas on the subject, the author thinks that parens stems from a form pariens (pres. partic. of pario) which dropped its i in the derivative parientālia > parentālia through dissimilation. From the last form the regressive parens arouse and substituted the original pariens.
