The author studies the rules of the comparative as it is found in the «Vetus Latina» and «Vulgata» versions of the book of Genesis. He examines all the texts of the two versions to see what relation the different Latin constructions have with the Greek LXX version and the Hebrew text so as to reveal the origin of the constructions and the possible novelty of some of them in Latin.
