The author of this paper studies the scene of the Prologue of the Sophoclean tragedy from a structuralist point of view. He infers that there is real evolution in the dramatic technique of the Sophoclean works. The formal structure becomes progressively more complicated and extensive. From the point of view of the distribution, the old relationship between the Prologue and the Parodos is broken. And finally there are also important alterations on the level of the function.
