In Mycenaean dialect there are traces of survival of H from s with consonantal function. This paper attest also the traces of H with consonantal function in Homeric poetry, corroborating in this way, from a linguistic point of view, the theory that Homeric poetry is rooted in Mycenaean or pre-Mycenaean times, at least in certain formulae.
