New evidence on Democritos by Diogenes of Oenoanda concerning the theory of sleeping-images (fr. 1 and 6 and 13-12 Smith) permit to make clear some Democritos’ known fragments (specially 55A 77 Diels) and to interpret correctly some Lucretius’ passages, e. g., 4, 788-801; 5, 1169-74; 4, 127 s.
