Homeric Hymn to Hermes, commentary, date, Hesiodic component of formular dictionAbstract
This note consists of a critical review of the book of J.-M. Schenck zu Schweinsberg, Der pseudohomerische Hermes-Hymnus. Ein interpretierender Kommentar (Heidelberg 2017), which, edited after an important commentary of this hymn by A. Vergados, The Homeric Hymn to Hermes. Introduction, Text and Commentary (Berlin-Boston 2013), could at first seem redundant and at the end reveals itself as a useful complement to the former, excepted its most controversial points, the date assigned to the hymn and the Hesiodic component of its formular diction among others.
